Description

That moment when you remember why you don’t draw horses. LEEEGGGSSS. Well, actually his human form was worse to draw. Curly hair >:( Still not entirely satisfied with it
This is a very old character, I’ve had him for ages just never RPed him all that much. Should be fun to RP a meanie >:3
Don’t mind his dog-like proportions, not used to drawing horses. He’s meant to have a light build >.>

Oh and swearing warning. Also, MUCH READING, SUCH LENGTH.

---

[Name]
“My name is Nicholas. Not ‘Nick’ or ‘Nicky-boy’ or ‘Saint Nick’ or ‘Nicholopoulos’ or any other imbecilic nickname you feel the need to plague me with. Nicholas. Say ‘Nich-O-Las’.”

[Age]
“Five years. I would estimate that to be twenty-four in your human years.”

[Gender]
“I’ll give you one guess.” Stallion

[Height] “Tall enough.”
15.5hh, 182 cms

[Breed]
Quarterhorse x Thoroughbred/Ahkal Teke /Hackney/???

[Job] “Do I look like some common beast of burden to you?”
None. Ex-con artist/professional free-loader

[Partner]
“I have no need for one of those.”
(Go ahead and try, it’ll be interesting xD)

[Sexual orientation]
Bisexual??? (See personality)

[Personality] “Wouldn’t you like to know?”

Here’s where describing Nicholas gets a bit difficult. The stallion doesn’t seem to have a set personality. One mare might know him as a sweet talking lady’s man, the stallion the next herd over thinks of him as a snivelling imbecile, the farmer down the road might think he’s a gentle sweetheart of a horse. He keeps each personality simple for the simple minded individual, giving them one blaringly obvious trait that defines them; “That stupid stud’s only got mares on his mind!”, “Hah! The spineless fool? Steal? From us?”, “Poor guy’s always terrified, you think we should talk to him?”. For the longest time, no one could pin point exactly what his personality is and by the time someone realised he’s been playing with their minds he’s long gone.

This was of course, all before arriving in Pawsville. He’s never been to such a city like place before and all these people and strange things are freaking him out. He’s since gone on the defensive and his personality’s defaulted to the one that’ll keep the most people away; douchebag. Yep, right now Nicholas is just an all-round unpleasant animal to be around. He hasn’t used any of his ‘nice’ personalities since coming here and absolutely refuses to give any of the ranch hands an easy time.

Now, if you dig deep, there are some consistent things about him that no amount of acting can change.

|Flighty| At the first sign of trouble, he’s out of there. Cars backfiring, strange looking tree branches in the breeze, plastic bags, rattling horse trailers, any sign of danger and he’s out of there

|Coward| Nicholas is an utter coward. He’ll leave you for dead at a moment’s notice and has no concept of loyalty

|Intelligent| There’s no denying he’s got a good head on his shoulders. Nicholas is probably too smart for his own good; he successfully conned several farmers and two herds of horses into doing what he wants and was very good at manipulating people for the longest time

|Vain| He’s a little on the vain side. Nicholas considers his horse form fairly good looking and takes great care in keeping up appearances. If his current ‘personality’ is a slob though, he has no problem going for a roll in the mud, his ‘assignment’ is more important than his looks

|Loner| Nicholas is ultimately a loner and has been his entire life. While he does admittedly crave contact with other living things, they rarely ever end well and majority of the time it’s him pissing someone off for the fun of it all. He has no sense in trust in anyone, human or animal.

|Flirty???| This is a hard one to crack. Nicholas may flirt with a mare one moment, a stallion the next and act completely asexual the day after. Again, it really depends on his current alter ego and there’s no telling what his actual preference is, if he even has one.

|Manipulative| If he’s not in control of a situation, he’ll panic. He likes to know any and everything going on around him and being in the dark is just not an option.

[History]

Nicholas was born on a horse sanctuary to a red roan, Quarter horse mare. She was a pretty horse, small and dainty and having a temperament that did not match her sweet looks. Having been abused by several owners in her previous years, she was a bitter, temperamental, mean-spirited mare that had no problems stating her disapproval of the peaceful herds at the sanctuary. Because of this, she and her son lived as loners on the huge property.

In comparison, Nicholas’ father had been a neighbour’s gentle natured mutt of a horse. He was an even-tempered buckskin coloured equine and just an all-round nice person. However, this didn’t change the fact that his breeding was nowhere near as nice as his mate’s. So when Nicholas’ mother was bought by the sanctuary, she decided to never tell the little blue roan of his real heritage, not wanting him to feel shame that he wasn’t as ‘valuable’ as his mother. Instead, she convinced her young son that his father had been a wild horse, a mustang that roamed the country free from man.

Growing up, Nicholas and his mother stayed well away from the two herds. The few times they did interact usually ended pretty badly for the herds. Nicholas was a well-known troublemaker, causing fights between the other foals when they annoyed him and just being an all-round mischief-maker. His mother made no attempts to discourage this, in fact she nurtured her son’s devilish antics, teaching him several of his little ‘quirks’. She was equally as hated but the pair didn’t care, laughing off the misfortunes of the other horses. Mother and son were having fun. That’s all that mattered.

The two horses lived in relative peace, the ranchers tolerating their troublesome ways. That was until the young horse was two. Mother and son were swimming down by a river when Nick lost his footing and started drowning. His mother quickly came to his rescue, pulling the young colt out of the water but not before breaking her leg in the process. As they came ashore to the bank, the mare got stuck in some fast sinking mud, unable to get herself out due to her broken leg. The more she struggled, the faster she seemed to sink. Holding his mother’s head above the mud, Nicholas tried desperately to call for help from the other horses, despite his mother telling him over and over again that they won’t come. And she was right. The other horses herd his cries but ignored them, thinking the troublesome colt was just lying again. Nicholas stayed with his mother long after her nose had disappeared under the mud.

It was only when the young horse returned to the barn covered in mud and red eyed did the other horses realise he hadn’t been lying, only further emphasised when the forklifts came to retrieve the body the next morning. Feeling immense guilt over their inaction, the two herds allowed the horse to wander between the two groups and never again chastised him for any of his actions.

Despite his newfound adoption, Nicholas didn’t feel any less bitter about either herds. He hung around both groups, always silent but always listening to their mundane chitchat and taking note of their comments. He took to following the leaders around, quickly learning to read their moods and small little looks and interactions between each other especially when the two herds would meet.

His work all came together when he discovered the favourite mare of one of the lead stallions was cheating on him with the son of the other. It didn’t take long at all for him to cause a fight to break out, which erupted into a stampede that destroyed a good bit of property.

That was the final straw that broke the camel’s back for the ranchers. Once they fixed up the sanctuary, they sold the young horse. And from there he passed through many, many hands. His absolutely terrible temperament meant many people tried breaking him in with very harsh methods, which only caused the horse to act up even more. He developed an intense dislike for most humans, especially the rough treatment of the many farriers he’s had the displeasure of meeting, and since he was unworkable he was sold time and time again.

Nicholas eventually ended up in Pawsville. He’s had a lot of trouble adapting to this new life, not at all used to this many people or strange things. His new owners are going to have their hands full.

[Likes/Dislikes] (The dislike section will be extensive)
+ Standard horsie treats (Sugar, Apples, Carrots)
+ Being in control of every situation; basically, he’s a control freak
+ Will practically whore himself out for a nice suit. Or he might just steal it  It’s gotta be a pretty damn nice suit though
+ ‘Working’, sort of. He does like to keep in shape because he is very self-conscious and does think himself good looking
+ Hats <3
+ The wilderness; wide open spaces or forests
- Loud noises
-  If you call him any variation of donkey, he’ll get super pissed off at you. Keep saying he looks like a donkey and eventually he’ll just run off and start crying ;( (Because of his short upright-ish mane, the other foals used to tease him about being a mule).
- Humans, horses, other animals… pretty much everyone that’s not him. He doesn’t particularly like anyone and just tolerates socialisation with other creatures
- HATES HATES HATES the farrier. Expect a whole lot of foot stamping or switching into human form. Every farrier he’s met has been absolutely terrible and rough and if one corners him to force shoes on he’ll probably have a nervous breakdown. He’ll be acting like this the entire time:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_D2EG…
- Bridles, bits, harnesses and saddles. He’s still pretty much unrideable and refuses to be broken in
- Rivers or other large natural bodies of water for obvious reasons (see history)
- Horse trailers. No.
- People telling him to dye his roots. FUCK YOU THEY’RE NATURAL GODDAMNIT

[Extra information]
· Stomps his feet when he’s mad, defensive, irritated etc. No matter what form he’s in.
· Very fast; he’d make a decent racehorse if he were purebred.
· The moment a situation gets slightly dangerous, he nopes the fuck out of there faster than you can say “It’s just a puddle!”
· Weakling; Nicholas couldn’t fight his way out of a wet paper bag. Because of this he tends to avoid large, dominant stallions. They are awfully fun to mess with though
· His one and only good trait was that he was a diehard Mama’s boy. Too bad his mother was a bad tempered bitch (which quite honestly, explains a whole lot)
· Firmly believes his father is a wild mustang, despite evidence to the contrary
· Bites and kicks if you mess with him but won’t stick around for the fight. He’s pretty frail
· Strolls around the streets of Pawsville in horse form and doesn’t give a flying shit. Well, he won’t until the police start chasing him
· Will take things as he pleases. A very good pickpocket. He doesn’t really do this to annoy anyone, sometimes he just wants something. It’s usually sweets.
· Has a slight British accent that he inherited from his mother. Who in turn inherited it from a previous owner. Neither of them have ever stepped foot in England
· Swears. A lot. At least internally, he’s less vulgar out loud

Still choosing but for now I’ll go with this:

Woo, I finally finished! His human looks are heavily based on Patrick Jane from The Mentalist btw, I thought their personalities were pretty similar (minus Patrick’s happy). How do you curly hair >:/

|RP Style|
Literate (Around 200ish words but will adapt to your length) – Notes (preferred), Comments. I may do Skype but I’m rarely on.
Script – Only after extensive Lit RP since I’m still getting to know this guy. Mini comment RPs are bound to happen though xD
Please don’t get too offended if this guy does something mean to your character. Because he WILL do something asshole-y. Good luck taming this guy.

I’ll be honest, I’m really not interested in 18+ RPs. I don’t mind gore, just not interested in the other stuffs xD Don’t mind implying it though.
I should probably expand; I don't mean I don't mind serious RPs. In fact I adore them; dark themes, heavy stuff, characters getting beat up I'm all for that. But don't expect me to be gung ho about bedroom stuff. yeah I know, I suck xD

Characters I really want to RP him with:
~ Police Officers/Animaal control; trying to enforce the law either by stopping him from stealing or mandatory human forms for horses
~ Farriers; either just wanting to do their job and don’t care how much he freaks out or someone who genuinely wants him to not be so scared
~ Other horses of course
~ And other mean characters that can give him an attitude check xD
